GE IC697CPM790-GD is the flagship triple modular redundant (TMR/GMR) main CPU of GE Fanuc Series 90-70 platform, designed for zero-downtime and high-safety critical processes such as ESD emergency shutdown, gas flame safety, and power unit protection.
Equipped with a 64MHz Motorola 80486DX2 processor with integrated hardware FPU, it executes complex control algorithms including ladder logic, structured text and function blocks. It comes with 1MB battery-backed RAM, with 512KB allocated for user programs and process data to retain recipes, fault logs and PID parameters after power loss.
It is a single-slot rack plug-in module with native support for Genius modular triple redundancy architecture. Hardware voting among three rack CPUs provides fault tolerance without process trips upon single CPU failure. It features an onboard DB15 RS422/485 serial debug port for online firmware upgrade without EPROM replacement. The front panel has four status LEDs plus a physical RUN/STOP/MEM PROTECT three-position switch to lock programs against unauthorized modification.
