Product Description

TVOC-2-240 (order code 1SFA664001R1001) is the core master controller of ABB Arc Guard System, an optical arc flash detection device for low-voltage switchgear, manufactured by ABB.

It captures arc light signals via fiber optical detectors installed inside cabinets, and sends rapid trip signals to circuit breakers within 1ms once arc faults occur, drastically reducing arc flash energy to protect personnel and electrical equipment from severe burn and blast hazards.

The base unit comes with 10 built-in optical sensor inputs, expandable up to 30 detectors by adding two TVOC-2-E1 extension modules. It supports 3 independent trip relay outputs with zone selectivity to isolate fault compartments accurately.

Compatible with external detachable HMI panel (TVOC-2-H1) for on-site parameter setup, fault code reading and status monitoring. Optional TVOC-2-COM communication module enables Modbus RTU data upload to SCADA/DCS for remote fault logging and system diagnosis. DIN rail or wall mounting design, SIL 2 safety certified per IEC 61508, widely deployed as safety spare for power distribution cabinets, industrial MCC, mining and chemical plant switch rooms.
